ECCEZIONE is a triptych of contemporary circus, a three-act journey into the poetic universe of Magdaclan. It all begins with an everyday action: preparing a coffee. A ritual of the beginning of the show and welcome to the spectators inserted in an incredible domino effect machine, playing ironically to defy the laws of physics. It continues with a eulogy to the circus and its balancing acts and concludes with a musical journey, in a crescendo of techno-Arabic atmospheres.
Founded in Turin in 2011, MagdaClan is one of Italy’s best-loved contemporary circus companies: a collective body with pulsating muscles and an open mind that releases sincere emotions. The collective is made up of about twenty people including acrobats, musicians and performing arts workers and carries on, with passion and professionalism, the common dream of spreading wonder through the codes of the new circus. Inside and outside the elegant blue tent, the MagdaClan company speaks to the audience with poetic, ironic and multifaceted language that is a metaphor for the complexity that inhabits the contemporary.
